About Me
My name is Mel and I am an Associate with the
Orton-Gillingham Academy. I specialize in teaching students with learning disabilities, including dyslexia. I believe students thrive when they are active, confident learners who take pride in their academic growth and accomplishments. With nine years of experience as a learning coach, along with my license as a substitute teacher in the state of Ohio, I am passionate about providing individualized support that helps students build skills, confidence, and independence.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me curled up with my cat, Heath Bar, and a good book, spending time in the garden, or heading out on adventures beyond the Shire with my husband and kids. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Bowling Green State University. Go Falcons!*
